“Quicksilver” receives 3rd place award at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art Plein Air Show

Quicksilver, 6 x 8″ plein air oil

What a nice surprise and honor to receive 3rd-place for my painting titled “Quicksilver”, at The Rice Gallery of Fine Art’s 2nd Annual National Juried Plein Air Show in Overland Park, Kansas. This is the second time I’ve participated in the show, with two paintings juried in this year.

Painted at Walden Ponds, Boulder County Open Space, Quicksilver captures a fleeting glimpse of winter light slipping through a space in the clouds at the horizon.

Also in the show:

Weiser Wetlands, also painted at Walden Ponds, last summer during the Boulder County Open Space plein air paint-out.
